"Black is slimming"
"Black is elegant, sophisticated and easy"
We've all grown up believing that wearing black can only be a good thing. And when you're young it mostly is.
Unfortunately, as we mature, wearing black can accentuate fine lines and wrinkles, making us look older and tired. Not so good......
If you've got to the stage where you gasp with horror at your reflection when your hairdresser puts a black cape on you, it might be time to move on and find your new black.
Try a navy or charcoal, or other dark colours instead. Sit down in front of a mirror and compare black to different dark colours until you find one that is flattering.
The negative effect of black is generally only when you wear it close to your face, so try adding a flattering scarf or colourful necklace to your existing black clothing.
BUT.....If you love wearing black, and you feel fantastic when you wear it, then don't let anyone, including me, tell you not to!
I am available for Personal Style workshops, public speaking, wardrobe and colour consultations and personal shopping styling sessions, based in Perth, Western Australia.
