Winter sales are in full swing in most stores, and it can be tempting to load up with armfuls of marked down clothing, because of the great 'savings' you'll make.
However, even if an item is reduced to a mere fraction of it's original price, you will still be wasting money if it's something you end up never wearing. The guidelines for avoiding buying such items still need to be followed - you can read them here. Buying something simply because it is a bargain is not a good enough reason on it's own.
But...we all have our limit on what we are prepared to spend on some things, so sale time is when you might get the opportunity to purchase an item that you could not afford at it's full price e.g. leather boots, wool coats and quality jackets.
Fashion trend items are more likely to be heavily reduced than classic clothing, so consider snapping up one or two. It's a simple and cheap way to update your wardrobe for the remainder of winter!
