Long legs are the ultimate accessory to any outfit - but not everyone is lucky enough to be naturally endowed with giraffe like pins. In fact, most women are not and have a longer upper-half than lower half.
Thankfully, creating the illusion of longer legs isn't difficult at all. Here a few ways to cheat your way to legs that never end!
1. Wearing high waisted pants and skirts creates an illusion of longer legs.
2. Choose your shoes carefully. Obviously heels will lengthen your legs, but matching the colour of your shoes to whatever is on your legs will also lengthen them. So, wear nude shoes with bare legs, and black shoes with opaque stockings or pants. A shoe with a low vamp will lengthen your legs, while an ankle strap will shorten.
3. Beware of long cardigans, jackets and tops - they lengthen the torso and will make your legs appear shorter. Wearing one colour only beneath an open long jacket or jacket will create a slimming effect and offset the leg shortening factor. Or simply swap for a shorter jacket. Tuck long tops in at the waist - you don't have to tuck the whole lot in, just a pinch tuck will make all the difference.
4. Knee length (just above or just below) is always more flattering. The calf is the widest part of your leg, and a hemline there will make your legs appear shorter, and wider! Avoid.
